Welcome to Cape Coral, Florida
Weather  |  Lee County

Welcome to beautiful Cape Coral, Florida, one the fastest growing, waterfront communities in Southwest Florida. For many the attraction to Cape Coral is the yearly average temperature of 80 degrees and the endless amount of sunshine. For other the most distinctive feature is its 400-plus miles of freshwater and saltwater canals --more than Venice, Italy. The extensive network of waterways provides the city with an abundance of affordable waterfront property, allowing many boat owners (1 out of 10) to moor their craft behind picturesque homes. Just minutes from pristine beaches and Gulf waters. Cape Coral really does have something for everyone.

Cape Coral is a young city, especially when measured with European standards. Founded in 1957 the "Gulf American Land Corporation" proceeded to turn the land west of Fort Myers, Florida into today's "Waterfront Wonderland".

Water activities like boating, charter boating, fishing, swimming, canal sightseeing, and sunbathing are a big part of the quality of life. For land-based sports, golfers flock to seven local golf courses and more than forty within Lee County. They range from executive to championship courses. Racquetball and tennis courts are sprinkled throughout the city.

Cape Coral offers several excellent restaurants, a water-park with the appropriate name "Sun Splash" several shopping centers.
